🍃 Rock Cliff C&O Canal: A Reminder to Protect the Places We Love Some outdoor adventures stay with you long after you've returned home. Our recent visit to Rock Cliff along the C&O Canal Towpath was one of those experiences. From the overlook above Dam #5, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the Potomac River, watched a snapping turtle and a frog sharing the same spring-fed stream, and appreciated the quiet beauty that makes this stretch of the C&O Canal so memorable. It was the kind of place that reminds you to slow down. Then we noticed something else. Scattered across the overlook were drink cans, plastic bottles, food containers, and other litter that didn't belong in such a beautiful setting. Standing there, one question came to mind: Who's going to clean this up after you do this? That simple question stayed with us throughout the rest of our visit.
